9:15am - 10:00am Keynote: Removing Two-In/Two-Out: A Data-Driven Defense of Our Mission
Over the past quarter century, there has been a lot of confusion about what two-in/two-out means to fire department operations, what effect it has on the civilians we protect, and on our brother and sister firefighters. We now have a considerable amount of data from multiple sources, namely, FSRI, Project Mayday, NFPA, USFA, NIOSH, AHA, and Firefighter Rescue Survey that look indirectly at these issues from multiple angles. Data, when used properly, can change ideologies, operations, and outcomes. This class will dissect these data to build the most accurate picture of the fireground and start a discussion about how to use this data to support or disprove what we consider best practices.
Speaker: Nick Ledin, Captain, Eau Claire (WI) Fire Department
